About the Role:

Sun Metalon is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to support our Engineering and analytical team with proof of concept and other analytical testing using our advanced metal production systems. In this hands-on role, you will assist our material science engineer with application development, product testing, and other essential activities that contribute to the innovation and quality of our products.

This position requires an organized, self-motivated individual capable of working independently on assigned tasks while maintaining a clean and safe lab environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineers and quality teams with process development, testing, and data collection for product development and improvement.
  • Perform product testing and inspection of internally produced and vendor-supplied components to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment required for testing and prototype builds.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the test lab, ensuring equipment is properly stored and maintained.
  • Accurately document test procedures, results, and observations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical issues identified during testing or prototype evaluation.
  • Follow detailed instructions and procedures while delivering high-quality, precise work.
  • Hands-on mechanical assembly experience preferred
  • Work independently for extended periods, managing priorities based on project timelines and needs.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience in a lab, manufacturing, or product development environment is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, reliable work.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, diagrams, and written procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with engineering teams.
  • Commitment to safety and cleanliness in the workplace.
