Sun Metalon is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our advanced metal production systems at heavy industrial customer sites across North America.

As the face of Sun Metalon in the field, you’ll provide exceptional technical support while ensuring our customers’ equipment operates at peak performance. This position is ideal for someone with strong electro-mechanical experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, and optimize Sun Metalon machines both at customer locations and pilot manufacturing line at Wood Dale location.
  • Provide post-sales technical support, ensuring customer satisfaction through hands-on troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, acting as a trusted technical resource and ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
  • Help our young, rapidly growing company establish a field service structure. Document service work, including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance, and maintain accurate service records.
  • Train customers on proper operation, maintenance, and best practices for Sun Metalon equipment.
  • Stay current on product updates, technical advancements, and service procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams to communicate field insights and recommend improvements.
  • Travel extensively (up to 75%) to customer sites across North America (primarily the Eastern U.S.).

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Proven experience in field service, maintenance, or installation of heavy industrial machinery.
  • Strong electro-mechanical skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Professional, customer-first attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and manage priorities under minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently across North America.
